Gored gored is a typical Ethiopian meal made up of raw beef cubes. Although Gored Gored is sometimes related to kitfo, it is not marinated in spices and butter before being eaten. Lemon wedges, injera flatbread, and awaze chili sauce are popular accompaniments.

Typically, the fat is left on the meat and consumed with it. Gored Gored can be eaten alone or with the aforementioned components, but it can also be part of a larger dish, particularly at festive events and festivals.

 

Ingredients needed to make Gored Gored:

  • 1 kilo of chopped meat (Cubes)
  • Two spoons of butter
  • One spoon Berbere (Ethiopian spicy ingredient)
  • 1/4 spoon Korerima (Correma)
  • 1/4 spoon of salt

 

Steps:

Step 1: Prepare a good-sized bowl.

Step 2: Prepare 1 kilo of chopped meat. The chopped meat is just little cube sizes.

Step 3: Add the meat to the bowl and wash with water very well. The meat is going to be eaten a bit raw.

Step 4: Turn on the stove and heat up your cooking pot at a very low temperature.

Step 5: Add two spoons of butter to the pan and let it melt. You should remember that the temperature is low to only allow the butter to melt.

Step 6: Then add one spoon Berbere (Ethiopian spicy ingredient).

Step 7: Add 1/4 spoon Korerima (Correma) and 1/4 spoon of salt. And mix all the ingredients very well.

Step 8: Add the meat to the mixed ingredients in the pan. Do not raise the temperature of the stove as the meat is prepared raw.

Step 9: Once the ingredients are well mixed with the meat you can turn off the stove and start serving.

 

How to eat Gored Gored (Seasoned Cubed Meat)

It is pretty much easy. You can eat it the way that suits you. There are no limitations. But if you want to eat it Ethiopian style then here is what you have to do.

1, Prepare a flat dish and lay down the Injera (Ethiopian bread) on the plate. Next, use your spoon and add the Gored Gored (Seasoned Cubed Meat) on top of the Injera. When you eat you should use your hand. The same way as shown in this video:



2, You can simply eat it with a piece of bread. And of course, using your hands.
