Zenebech Restaurant is a family commercial enterprise that was once started out in 1993 as an injera bakery. Zenebech Dessu and Gebrehanna Demissie began the enterprise as a skill of survival after being laid off from work. The bakery was once positioned on 11th & amp; V NW and served each restaurant and market all over the DC metropolitan area.
In 1999 Zenebech Restaurant relocated to its present-day vicinity and extended to include both the injera bakery and carryout orders. Over the years, they have brought more dishes to their menu whilst the usage of genuine Ethiopian spices and freshly baked Injera.

Hawwi was brought up in a large family, in a culture where a mastery of cooking is expected of one's daughter. At the age of twelve, she was encouraged to learn to make authentic Ethiopian foods from her late dear mother, who was believed to have a magic hand when it came to cooking. People who have eaten her healthy and delicious food in Ethiopia, Germany and here in the US gave her the warm approval and courage to start her own family restaurant.
Her late mother was always her biggest example and inspiration. She was a business woman; anything she cooked turned out wonderful and people loved her cooking. She thought her to be honest, clean, and resourceful, to always be truthful. To always give back. She said to help the poor and the hungry.
They serve fish, healthy food purchased from local farmers. They pride themselves in keeping a very clean, comfortable restaurant and strive to cook the very best delicious traditional Ethiopian dishes with courteous, warm service for their customers. They greet people warmly and treat them more like old friends or family than customers.
